the collective aura of pain of students all over the world should be enough to throw the cosmic balance of the earth into chaos.

New Music

i caved in and downloaded Dashboard's The Shade of Poison Trees and Kisschasy's Hymns for the Nonbeliever. sorry man, i just didnt have 40bux to spare.. anyway, im sorta glad that i didnt spend that 40bux =X both albums were highly anticipated, but neither particularly blew me away. (sigh) the dashboard one is basically what i expected it to sound like...very similar to their old stuff..but seriously, some of the new songs sound so similar to an old song..its totally like old cords recycled, modified slightly, given new lyrics and rerecorded! dusk and summer was a lot better imo.they had a slightly different sounds from their previous albums and the songs didn't sound recycled..they actually sounded like new stuff! boo. the kisschasy one just isnt as nice as their first album. oh well..

on a different note, i really like Plain White T's album Every Second Counts. there isnt another song on that album that sounds vaguely like Hey there Delilah but i like the overall sound of the album.. very acoustic, fun melodies and lighthearted lyrics.. not bad for easy listening

Thing of the day!!!~ urghh i really dunno anymore.. this studying thing is killing me

Exam Preparation
mother is the only drink without a sugarfree alternative. its also interesting how it markets itself as being 100% natural energy. the ingredient list includes Acai and Guarana extract (both plants from the Amazon), caffeine, and ginseng. yea i get whole 'natural' thing...but seriously, there's no such thing as fake energy.

Thing of the day!!!~exam supplies: food, stay awake drink, butt pad, new energy saving cool daylight lightbulb

it is interesting to personally prove that stress really does screw up your cycle. after almost a week of high stress levels, this is what my desk now looks like. i learnt in oprah (not my physiology class on hormones) today that cortisol is the "stress hormone". lots of it is produced when you're stressed. i wish i had a cortisol measuring meter to measure my cortisol levels over the past 5 days. murphy's law states that your computer must fail you at the most inconvenient time possible. i've never been so grateful for old technology before. people, don't throw out your big old monitor so soon. you never know when your fujitsu screen is gona go out and wreck itself overnight. (then again, i must thank the school that was gona throw it's old monitors out and thus enable my friend to rescue one for me.)

How very self-indulgent of me
to post up photos tt were taken almost 2 months ago!! haha but i really like some of the photos and ive been meaning to post them up..soo there we go! i finally found time to make the collages and post them =)

New Gold Mountain
21 liverpool place. melbourne.
came here on the actual day itself. chinese opium den/brothel style bar that is hidden behind an unmarked door, save for the large number 21...which was very good for taking a 'club 21' picture! it's a really cool place which i would go to again..they've got their own special cocktails and we ordered different ones in between the few of us, but i didn't really fancy them that much

Berth
45 New Quay Promenade. Docklands
dinner the next day! i love docklands! its a mega waterfront dining extravaganza! the dining experience at berth was really good, save for a slightly bitchy waitress. the restaurant was in its own glass house and the interior was nicely set up. it had awesome cool toilets with just individual large fully equipped cubicles with mirrors on all walls! we had to take a photo in there..haha

Food at Berth
food was yum and pretty!jan and bena had kangaroo steaks!(see bottom right) i stuck to a good old rib-eye medium. have i told you how much i appreciate a really good steak?

Statues at Docklands
fun in the nightime with a cool installation along the waterfront.

After party @ Amanda's n Bena's
Go Aussie!!! and i had no idea who Libby is..hence the weird faces.. it was on the back of the Go Aussie..kai's excellent parking skills, and me with my presents!

Thing of the day!~Mon night cell prayer meets =)

The Student's Staple

i couldn't get my point-and-shoot to focus on the food and after a few tries i wanted to get to eating my lunch and so i stopped trying. but i think this has actually lent a nice artistic/poetic edge to the photo. the juxtaposition of the immediate focus vs the main constant focus of a student. hmmmmm.. the things you create by accident!

p.s. thanks mel for teaching me how to cook an egg. this is the nicest egg i've ever cooked in my life (pathetic, i know.) i will be cooking nice eggs from now on!

there is a direct corelationship between your state of mind, and actual outcomes.

i did manage to hand in one assignment on time, but the other one was at minimum, 20mins late. at that point in time, the lecturer in charge came into the computer lab (where there were 4 of us all still furiously working on our reports) and veryveryvery kindly told us that all the reports he receives under his door when he comes into the office the next morning would be considered to be handed in by the dateline(bless you stu). and thus i took a while more to finetune a couple more things and ended up turning it in an hour late officially.
next up, biochem test and lost dogs report

in other news, visit here! and bookmark it.. for a great take on fashion,food,books,travel.. all that good stuff =D *wink

Thing of the day!!!~groceries which comes with free gifts (gimmicks) but some of them are really truly good! like i was gonna buy a packet of vittoria ground coffee (latte) but the last packet had a hole in its side..so i was quite upset cos i had gone through certain lengths before finally deciding which coffee amongst the whole range available on the shelves of safeway to get.. only to discover that the one i had chosen only had one left and had a hole in its side!..but then..rachel showed me this other box that had the same coffee in it and it also came with a free glass and sugar packets! all for only 10c more! now..why would i go though more lengths to decide on the next best option and have to consider all the things like brand, price, type, etc again..when i can have what i originally wanted plus a free glass(i don't have enough glasses at home) for only 10c extra! good right! that said, australia doesn't have nearly as much gimmicky stuff as singapore.

P.S. i've actually found a truly good reason as to why i should join facebook.. ..(clare..!!taking pride in luring people to the dark side!!!tsk!)see i had an msn chat with victoria yesterday night, and she reminded me of this dear girl called Bev who shipped off the the UK to study during JC times. we've met up prolly once after she left but i've since lost contact with her.. vic told me that she lost contact with bev too but recently found her on facebook and got into contact with her! see a reason why i thought the stuff ppl say about facebook helping to stay in contact with friends is fluffed..is cos..a lot of your "friends" in there are people youre currently studying or working with, or are from your social circle, and hence its nonsense abt keeping in contact cos you are already in contact with them. but in this case, its truly true! so there..one brownie pt to facebook.. i'll need a couple more to convince me that facebook isnt the darkside =P
