The BIG two-OH turning 20 is one of those special birthdays with special significance..one of those because within the past 5 yrs there has been 2 other special significance birthdays..you know..sweet 16, THE 18th<- very very significant for gd reasons..and now of course 20. and next year's gonna be huge of course..so, when so many birthdays are significant, what makes this one that different anyway. well..i turned 20 this year so of course 20 is important to me now. hahahahaha..ok lol.. 20 is a weird age to be in..you're no longer a teenager, but youre not really an 'adult' yet. after having had the digit 1 as the first digit of your age for the past 10 years..you become quite acustomed to being a oner you know..having the first digit of your age change is a big deal! some birthdays dont matter that much..(eg:13 to 14 to 15, 22 to 23 to 24..pfftt who care about those)but 19 to 20!! man!! thats like a big yell to your face..you're not a kid anymoree!!! plus when im college..im like living with people who just turned 18 and i feel soo damnnn old..im a 20yr old still doing first yr subs in uni..man. anyway, enough nonsensical nonconstructive comments about age. it really doesnt matter what age you are as long as you look younger than that =D this birthday was quite special and memorable really..i had more songs sung than any other year..hahahah..here's a huge thanks to everyone that made this birthday special and wonderful and sweet!!!!! thanks for all the msges, cards, meals, company, cakes, hugs and presents!!!! =D dinner with ormondians at Stonegrill this concept of this place was quite cool..their main stuff was the stonegrill sets where you cook your pieces of meat and whatever else they give you on this stone which is apparantly some volcanice stone that has been heated for 48h up to about 400degC. the set comes with a fare amount of sashimi too. the bad thing about this place was that the service was soo terrible slow =| we waited for about 45mins to get the menu because they didnt have enough and just before we came there was this other big group that just arrived too..terrible lah!! but for the price they charged min 25/person the quality was definitely up to standard..and i know because i actually ate the sashimi without being too squirmish..hahaha and i dont eat sashimi. soo..my guess for my tolerance of sashimi was because of the added combination of hunger/wana get all out of the 25bux im paying/getting more used to sashimi..acquired taste mah..n ive forced myself to try some before..haha/must be good quality sashimi lah. haha it was quite fun cooking ur food on the stones anyhow..haha me with my cake..muahahahaha =D compare this with the cake that i got last year.. i got the same cake fromt the same people...hahaha ocf surprise! went for my cells farewell party for adrienne and terrence after dinner at stonegrill..and surprisingly...they planned something for me too!! hahaha =D should have a few more pics for this but i dont know who has them =X dinner at tutto bene with amanda,bena,jimson,jo-ann, kai shian and peiying! southgate is this nice uppetyish area by the yarra with nice restaurants..and considering how we're all poor uni students, i wouldnt really go there unless theres some good occasion..and i havnt been there until this time..haha.. tutto bene is this italian risotto place whose chef is a "master risotto chef" ..whaa master leh!! must try =D and the prices wernt that bad really..in fact it was kinda cheaper than the stonegrill place.. didnt take any picture of the food because..seriously, a plate of risotto doesnt look very pretty..it looks quite like a scoop of poridge just placed nicely and neatly on a large plate. but the taste..oooommmmmmm the taste!! thats what matters man!! the food was good =D i havnt tried risotto in restaurants before this..just the stuff they have at college..and all i have to say is..i didnt know risotto until that day.haha.. pics from in front of the yarra one more thing..a bit random..but this is related cos i took this pic in the toilet at southgate..check it out.. this is the national coat of arms of australia and this is the logo of hand dryer company kangaroos must dry hands too!!!! aahahahhahaha aussies have a sense of humour.. Thing of the day!!!~study blues cure for the uni student: panadol + coffee

one wish if i had one wish, i wouldn't wish for fame or fortune. my wish, would be that i can eat anything i want and however much i want without getting fat. yeaaaaa you want that too. =D you can seek out fame and earn your fortune but u cannot eat like you dont give a damn without getting fat. unless you work out like it depends on ur life everytime after u eat like you dont give a damn. hahaa. yes i am lazy and i don't like to runrunrun and pumppumppump. but im not too greedy..im not asking for a killer bod..if i really wanted that i would make myself go workout.. im just asking for a slim physique..don't think thats too much to ask ehh =D "this has been another air castle, brought to you by the fool's paradise." -enter fade out music- Thing of the day!!!~ place: KoKo Black! a must try chocolate place if you come to melbourne

Happy National Day Singapore! since living overseas for the past year or so now..i've made several discoveries, most of which purely catalysed by virtue of the fact that im a million miles away from home, family, friends, food, and am in an ang moh (ie non-asian) country. the one in particular today, is discovering that we all really do have some sort of i-love-singapore pride even though when at home no one publicly displays this sort of pride..except for people at the NDP which in this case is a totally different issue. Consider this, for the first time in 16years,(first 4yrs not counted cos i still lived in msia)National Day has meant something more than just a school holiday. yea sure, national day was celebrated every year.. in school..on the eve of national day there was always a concert that we sat through or sometimes were even involved in. and on the day itself, all our tv's were tuned into the parade. but when did you actually watch the whole parade and take it seriously, when did you actually celebrate it. it was always a holiday of convenience; 'celebrated' because the school conveniently put up a concert and allowed you to wear red and white cv clothes on this one special day. 'celebrate' by switching the tv on as background noise. well that was for me at least. maybe many singaporean families have big gatherings on national day and toast to this day or something but yea not us cos we arent even singaporean. but today, my friends, we specially met up at someones house for dinner and we all even made a conscious effort to wear red/white even though no one made us..todays not a school holiday and everyone has school tomorrow but today is national day and so i guess we do care. you might say that ahh we uni students, just finding any excuse to have a party. But thats silly..you don't need an excuse to party. so yea we were all at bena/pei yings house today.. and somewhere after dinner and trying to get the webcast to work so that i could try to see biao on tv..haha.. the girls went to check out old national day songs and they started singing them and hehheh when do you actually see people singing national day songs voluntarily and for fun!!!! hahahaa so i'd say, only when youre overseas do you really discover your national identity and learn not to take the local tv NDP broadcast for granted because the webcast absolutely sucks. cheers to singapore. have a good one ya'all! Thing of the day!!!~country..xin jia po! this is homeeee trullllyyy where i know i must beee where my dreaammmss wait for mee where the wriver always flowwsss

why the learning driving system in singapore is crap and how the driving school is out to suck every last penny out of you after spending a hedious amount of money at the driving school, only to take a hediously strict driving test, only to fail it, and then spend more money to fail it again..etc..and when you finally scrape through the test and get that lofty driving license, you find that you cant park your car in real parking lots (no poles how to park!), you don't dare to go near the expressway cos you've never driven on an expressway in all your thousands of dollars worth of lessons, and you're terribly not confident of driving on roads that you're not familiar with (ie roads not surrounding the driving school)Basically, besides knowing how to operate a car, you don't know how to really drive. But don't worry!! the driving school is here to help you with whatever problems you have!! after you pass your driving test, for a very small fee of about a hundred bucks you can take up the Driving Orientation Course!where the newly qualified driver learns how to park in real life and drive on expressways and explore new and exciting roads!! bullcrap man. pass already but still cant really drive. a very lated post but i've been meaning to say it..just hadn gotten around to ranting until now.. pay so much still dont know how to drive properly. PUI. anyway..school has started..whoopiedoo..last week was SWEET.. had like about 2h worth of lessons per day..but this week is when the shaait starts..pracs till 5pm 3 times a week is definitely not ideal. oh well.. ohoh..random excitement.. the current physics lecturer looks like richard gere!!! hehhehheh..5 birds please. hehheh..there you go!!! imagine this oldish man with grey hair walking around about 7m away from you..cant really see the face all that well from where ur sitting..can imagine the resemblance right!!! haha watched 2movies back here..CLICK and THE LAKE HOUSE. both are goood!!!should watch both!click is a surprisingly nice watch..its one of adam sandlers good ones and Kate Beckinsale is hot!!! boys!take your girls to watch the lake house..its sooo sweeeet =)definitely one of the nicest romantic dramas ive seen..much better than the notebook (using notebook as a reference cos its the last romantic drama i remember watching and people seem to like that movie alot)..and Keanu Reeves is hot!!!if you liked eternal sunshine of the spotless mind..you probably might like this one too..but in case u watch this and you think its crap..don't blame me..ive heard some people think its lousy too..but i love it!! so yea.. no prac tomorrow..yay!!!! Thing of the day!!!~Movie: The Lake House
