Nobu Melbourne
Crown Melbourne Australia
*****

i had the best dinner in melbourne ever.
top right:Scallops and Mushrooms in Spicy Garlic Sauce 26.00
top left:Sea Urchin Tempura w Sea salt,lemon juice&Pepper Dips 12.00
bottom :Beef Tataki 19.00

Steamed Chilean Seabass 29.00

Creamy Spicy Snow Crab 19.00

So, first up was the sea urchin, which was pink and creamy.. not what i expected, it tasted..creamy..hahaha it wasnt that awesome but neither was it bad, so altogether its exotic factor made it worth the taste. Next we had the scallops which was amazingly tasty and fresh. Then we tried the beef tataki, which is as what the picture makes it look like, raw beef with the garnishing. i usually eat my steak medium at most but i really wanted to try a raw beef dish, so i think this was a really good sample of what i wanted to try..for raw meat, it really didnt taste that raw..the sauce and garnishing probably had a lot to do with that, but yea very interesting dish. The Seabass was probably my favourite dish..or maybe the crab..mm its a toss up between the 2.. the menu said the seabass was steamed but i dont see how u can get the surface that nicely charred if you steam it..but anyway yea the amount of cookness was just perfect and the whole aroma/taste was phwarr. the crab was definitely the most valueformoney dish. the portion was made up of really good chunks of crab meat and there was roe in the sauce as well. the sauce was unique.. creamy and spicy and orange (not that i could taste the orange colour but colour does make food more appetizing)

Overall an awesome gastronomical delight! i said i wanted to try nobu just once...mmm somehow, i dont think it will be my last time there. haha

back then in the days when my mum used to make breakfast for me before i went to school at 6.30am in the morning, one of the things she made was soft boiled eggs. and it would always be one egg with one slice of bread. i would always tear up the bread into mini pieces and soak it the egg, but then eat the bread first without scooping up too much egg, so that i would have just some egg left to eat at the end.

these days, i cook my own soft boiled eggs and eat it without bread.

Thing of the day!!!~scene in movie: the magic carpet ride in aladdin. how coincidental, that the day after i have a craving to watch aladdin, they show it on tv! but i cant watch it cos im studying. but the moment i heard tt song, i bolted out of my room to catch that scene. hahaha...

i stumbled upon a movie during dinner time today, and i really like it. In Good Company takes place in the set of the corporate world, but its really all about the relationships between the characters in the movie. dennis quaid, topher grace and scarlett johannson formed an excellent main cast.

Thing of the day!!!~Actor: Dennis Quaid. he's my new harrison ford/richard gere. haha

i think i shall make it a point to watch more of these types of drama/about relationships kinda shows this holidays..anyone got anything to recommend?
